Future or past⌚

Future or past.

 Would you rather go to your future or your past? Personal I would rather do neither because life's meant to be a surprise like getting a present and not knowing what it is, life is also meant to have a lot of adventures. Both of these can have there ups and downs if you were to choose to go into the future by doing that you could find out things you never wanted to find out or you might be able to discover something cool that could help you and others in the present. If you were to choose to go back to your past you could mess things up in your present/future or you could change something in your life that you an others benefited from. 

Going to your future.

 Going to your future could be fun, cool but also dangerous, let's say you travelled 20-30 years from now, with all the new technology/ inventions you could use to help people in the present if you were to take that information from the future what would be the consequences with those actions. Being able to see yourself and everyone else's future would be an amazing experience, being able to see how everyone turns out before they even know how they turn out and seeing all the new invention and how everything looks different and being able to see how all of this impacts us. 

Back to the past.

 Being able to go back to your past would be life-changing for some people. It would also be a bad thing messing with your past being able to change a lot of people's lives including yours, you may be able to change it for the better but the majority of the time there will be a lot of consequences that come with changing your present/future.

If I was to go to the future.

 If I was to go to the future I would want to look at all the new technology we have then and how that changed the world. I would want to see what type of illnesses or diseases they have found a cure for, and see if they could be made with the technology we have in the present or if they only found a cure because of the new technology. Going to the future I would also have the fear of finding out how I die or how anyone close to me dies.

If I was to go to the past.

 If I was going to go to my past I would want to change a lot of things, at the same time I wouldn't want to because the present would change along with other things. But it would be cool to go back a see what things were like back then and to be able to see or meet people that were in my family. Or to be able to go back to when technology wasn’t a big part of everyday life and be able to spend a day without technology and do what they would do then, like go to the park or do whatever it was they did back then.

Today I am going to be speaking about self-reflection.

Self-reflection is a good thing because you can think about all the things you have done wrong, right, learnt or know. 

Self-reflection is good for when you want to take a break or need to think about something else.

The value of self-reflection.

Reflection is a key learning tool that helps us evaluate our experiences and learn from them.

We are now going to take 2-3 minutes to do some self-reflection. 

For the first minute, I want you to think about a time you faced a challenge in your life.

Another world:Diversity

In English so far we have been learning about "Another world" meaning we have been learning from two different perspectives and how two peoples lives can be so different but we can all be faced with similar challenges. We have been learning how to deal with these if they were our challengers and if they were someone else's challenges. The way we are learning about these is through movies, TV shows and books. We watched Zootopia, Tarzan, The last air bender, glee and we read Children of blood and bone. We have learnt many things so far this year and some of the thing we have learnt have changed my perspective for many things in life. Like not to judge someone of the first interaction you have with them because they might be going through something at that time and or maybe having a bad day. It has shown me to be more kind and it has changed my understanding of people and the way I think/ act. Now in term 3 we are starting to learn about diversity and what it means and what it means to us, or what we think it means. To me diversity is about accepting and understanding others and that not everyone is the same, and everyone is an individual and unique.

There are two sides to every story.

Essay:

Do you think there is always two sides to every story? Children of blood and bone
by Tomi Adeyemi, A memorable idea is that there are two sides to every story.
This idea is shown in chapter 39- Inan, Inan uses his magic to see what happened
to his mother, chapter 13-Zelie, Amari tells Zelie “ my father killed my best friend”
and in chapter 22- Amari, Amari remembers not being allowed to leave the
palace.

The idea that there are two sides to every story is shown in chapter 39-Inan,
Inan uses his magic to see what happened to Zelie’s mother When he finds out
what happened he realizes that Zelie’s memories were nothing like the stories
his father had told him as a child and they weren't the villains his father had told
him about. Instead, all he saw were the families his father tore apart.
This chapter shows that just because one person says or tells you something
it doesn't mean it is always true or should be true. You could comper this to the
real world when someone in school tells you something bad that someone else
had said about you and you go and ask them about it but it wasn't true.
I think you should always know both parts of the story before you go and do
something about it because you might say or do something you regret.  

We also see this in chapter 13- Zelie, Where Amari tells Zelie
“ my father killed my best friend”. From Zelie’s point of view, this would sound
terrible because she wasn't there to see what happened, but either way, it is bad.
If you look at it from Amari’s view it is still bad maybe even worse because her
dad knew that they were best friends, but Amari knew the whole story and
knew what had happened even though her dad shouldn’t have done it.
Then there is Amari’s father that would have thought it was the right thing to do
and he was doing something good for his home because if Binta
(Amari’s best friend) was to be let go she would have had some of her power
back and he wouldn’t have known what she would have done with them.
If she was going to strike back or stay the same and do nothing about having
them back. He probably thought it was the right thing to do because then he
wasn’t putting any of his family at risk but either way he shouldn’t have done it.
This could be linked back to real life where someone might do something bad
and think that they are doing good and that they are helping their family or their
friends when really they have not to help and maybe even made worse. 

Another idea is that in chapter 22-Amari, Amari remembers not being allowed to
leave the palace because of what stories she was told and what her father had
told her. In this chapter, I think Amari remembers this because of all the things
she is starting to realize she missed out on because she listened to those stories
and what her father had said. Her father would have told her these stories
because he wanted to keep her safe and out of harm's way because with his
other family, he was more relaxed and worried less about keeping them safe and
more on letting them have fun and because of this it got them all killed. Now that
Amari is out of the palace and looking around for the first time, she probably
thinks that her father only wanted to keep her locked up or something like that.
You can see this type of thing happen in everyday life when someone tells you
not to do something and you listen but when you finally decide not to you find
that it is actually nice or it might not be but it doesn’t matter because you found
out for yourself, instead of just going by someone's word. I think that even if
someone tells you not to do something you should at least try it out for yourself
because you might like it and have different experiences. Even if it does turn out
bad at least you know that you did it and found out for yourself. 

Even though one person says something does not always mean it is true. Sometimes you have to find things out for yourself whether it is good or bad.
Just like most of the characters in the book, they were told one thing and it didn't
turn out to be all true.

Zootopia

Introduction:

A character who changed in Zootopia was Judy. Judy changed because at the start of the movie she thought that zootopia was the perfect place and she has a lot of confidence, during the film Judy starts to lose that confidence and stops believing in herself, towards and at the end of the film Judy gets her confidence back.

Body 1

Judy begun as a confident bunny that believes in herself and knows what she wants. We know this because at the start of the film when it is the play scene, where the children were saying what their dream jobs were. When it came to Judy’s turn we see her move toward the centre of the stage and closer to the audience. We can also hear her say “my dream job is to be a police officer”. Once Judy has said this one of the audience members (Gideon Gray) stands up and laughs at her. In response to this Judy replies back by talking about Zootopia and how perfect it is and how it is a place where anyone can be anything.

Body 2

Judy in the middle of the film was starting to lose her confidence and stopped believing in herself.

This is because of when Judy had to talk to the reporters she doesn't know what to say and just starts talking about how all the animals affected were all predators. When Judy was getting asked too many question mayor Bellwether had to come on stage and take Judy off. Once Judy was finished she walked over to Nick and she could tell that he wasn't too impressed with what she was saying. Nick ends up walking out of the building making Judy sad and making her realize what she has done. When she realized what she did wrong she goes and talks with the chief and mayor Bellwether. They want her to be the face of the ZPD, but she doesn't want to because she thinks she isn't a hero. In this scene, we can see that Judy is sad not only from her tone in voice but in the way her ears are drooping down. We can hear Judy say “ I came here to make the world a better place, but I think I broke it” she is saying this because of how the press-conference went and how what she said during it changed the perspective of so many animals and not in a good way now the animals that are considered predators are being feared from the animals that are considered good and safe. I think that in this moment she loses her confidence because of what has happened and what she has done/said.

Body 3

Judy at the end of the film started to get her confidence back and started to believe in herself. This is because in the scene where Judy’s parent are working with Gideon Gray she first was a bit thrown back but when he starts to apologize she understood and saw that he had changed. We see Stu hopps (Judy’s dad) tell the kids not to go near the Midnicampum flowers. We can also hear Gideon Gray say “ Well now there’s a $4 word you mr.H my family always just call them night howlers”. In this scene we see Judy’s ears going up which makes the audience think that she has an idea, When Judy starts to put all the clues together she figures out what was happening to the animals going savage. I think that in this moment she gets her confidence back and starts to believe in herself again.

Conclusion

Throughout the film, Judy went through stages of believing in herself and then not. At the start of the film, she was confident in herself, in the middle of the film Judy loses all her confidence and stops believing in herself, but towards the end, she gets it all back and believes in herself. I think the directors did this to make a point that even when you go through bad times you can always turn things around. That is why they also would have used some certain lines in the film and some certain film shots to make the film or scene more realistic and relatable.

supergirl

A message from Supergirl, Welcome to earth is that the aliens are the outcast and because of that the humans don't like them or what some of them stand for. This is because they are different and humans aren't used to seeing them and don't know what ones are the good ones and what ones are the bad ones so they just assume that they are all bad. We saw this in the scene where Maggie took Alex to the bar that is for aliens. Alex showed this because she didn't know that it existed or that it was for aliens and when she noticed that it was she started to worry and reached for her gun because she didn't know if any of them were bad or safe to be around. This is why I think it is important not to judge people on their appearance rather than there actions because someone could look like they are bad or will cause trouble but they could be the total opposite and be good.

two worlds, one family🌎👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

“Two worlds, One family”

That there are two families like the aps/animals are one of the worlds and the humans are the other world. The aps took in Tarzan as one of there own so both the worlds came together so it's kinda saying that everyone is one family.

Tarzan helped me understand that you don't have to look like your family to be family so let's say you were adopted they took you in as one of there own and made a home for you and tried to act like a family for you. Basically, a family is not determined by blood.

One of the messages that you can find in the movie is the way you treat nature.

Another one is that it family is not necessarily the people who look like you or who gave birth to you, it’s who’s there for you. Choose where you belong.

A message from the movie Tarzan is that family is not determined by blood. This is because family are the people that are there for you and who care about you. We see this in the scene where Kala hears Tarzan cry’s so she goes up to the house.
