Savory Scrolls🥐🥐

Ingredients

Plain flour 1 1/2 cups
baking powder 3 teaspoons
salt 1/2 teaspoon
cold butter 50 grams
tasty cheese 1 cup grated
spring onions 1 trimmed
parsley Tablespoon
milk 1/2 cup

filling

ham 1 large slice torn
cheese 1 1/2 cup grated
herbs 1-2 tablespoons
milk 1/4 cup to glaze

method

preheat the oven to 210c. grease a large baking tray

  1. Sift dry ingredients together. make a well and grate butter into the centre (use a cheese grater). rub butter into the flour. Add cheese, spring onions and parsley and mix.
  2. Use a butter knife to cut milk into the mix. reserving 1/4 cup until near the end (you may not need it) work quickly, adding just enough milk for the dough to bind.
  3. Tip onto floured board and pat together; don't over-handle or the dough will be tough. Flatten into a loose rectangle then roll out to about 1cm thick.
  4.  Add filling along the edge of the roll. Roll up from the long side to make one long roll. With seam side down, cut into 2cm-thick slice and place on tray. Brush with milk and bake for 12 mins or until golden and just cooked through.
Mise en place
Before we start cooking we are going to prepare all our food and cut everything up that needs to be cut up. We are also going to collect all the utensils and cutlery that we need.

What do will I do next time:
Next time I will make sure to read the resipie properly because I added the wrong ingredient into the batter when I wasnt to. ( It still tasted good)
What I learnt:
while making this I learnt that you need to add the right amount of milk or else you could reck your batter like if you add to much milk it will be too runny but if you don't add enough it will be to dry.
